Astrological Predictions Election 2008, Pt 2: Election Day Portents
by Curtis Burns,
Astrological Predictions Election 2008
Since most elections these days are small on substance and big on broad and pleasing-sounding euphemisms, change any kind of change supposedly is better than four more years of a Bush-clone such as McCain, or so they would state it that way.

So maybe this is how the Obama campaign clinches it; the aspect of Saturn on Uranus, a planet that supplies impetus for change, causes a strongly anxiety-laden reaction in their favor.  This is especially so if you masterfully have been pushing the right buttons on the long campaign trail, and we keep hearing in the media now that we are officially in “bad” times.  Saturn is a planet that induces anxieties and pathological behaviors….

As the campaign steamrolls on I thought I would write an article about the actual astrology of Election Day 2008, as it is certainly interesting. Being able to vote our representatives into office is a very important part of a republic, for a very insightful article on what a republic is I refer you to Wikipedia.

Chart posted at bottom of this page

First of all, on Election Day USA 2008 Mars and Neptune will be in square to each other.  This means that is a more than normal chance of deception and malice to occur.  We’ve all heard ad nauseum of 2000 and 2004 elections rife with vote fraud: loss of ballots, non-counted ballots, and tampering of electronic voting machines.  Astrological Predictions Elections 2008

The fact that the Nodes are falling into alignment with Mars and Neptune at this time makes the configuration all the more potent and connected to large groups of people.  Neptune will also be powerful just having turned direct two days before on November 2.

Clamor for “Change”

The other major configuration of the election will be Saturn in almost exact opposition to Uranus.  This would seem to point to a strong amount of tension, and a lot of anxiety focused around the concept of “change”, which is Obama slogan.

Saturn is a planet that induces anxieties and pathological behaviors.

A Messianic Figure

I know that there could be any number of Obama supporters out there reading SWN, but I take every opportunity to tell you my policy of holding no favorites (especially a Democrat or Republican) on this website.  I think the media trance-inducing machine is now working full time to recreate Obama in the image of a semi-messianic figure.  Interestingly enough if you look up the word messiah, it means anointed (crowned king) deliverer, and the ancient Hebrews regarded the coming messiah as a militant figure who would restore the Davidic rule to Israel—a proactive, warrior king.

With such a pro-Israel politician such as Obama (and nearly all mainline US politicians these days) and the eminent possibility of expanding war into Iran and action along the Russian-Eurasian nations (Georgia and Ossetia) such a connection seems all the more relevant.  Like I said in part one of this series, I am not quite sure when Obama was born; but if you use the birthdate generally assumed to be his there are some very potent war signatures in his astrology with the US chart.

As Peaceful as Anyone

So even if Obama were actually born a few days before and after his alleged date such astrology would still be valid.  So I don’t think Obama would be any less “warlike” than any of the US Presidents for the last 40 or so years (meaning he would be very warlike).  With Obama’s connections to Zbignew Brezinski, who hails from the Carter-era administration and is a big Russophobe (Russia hater) whose stated dream is to establish US control over Eurasia, Obama would not seem to be very peaceful at all.

So maybe the lesson here is if you want a messiah, be careful because you may actually get one.  Elections in the US however are not over messiah-saviors but how such a leader can turn around the economy, manage better benefits to all, and protect that American dream; as George Stephanopoulos, senior political advisor for Clinton in his 1992 campaign, posted in their war room: “It’s the economy, stupid.”

It should be noted that both the Mars/Neptune square and the Saturn/Uranus opposition are actually very weak from their positions very late in each sign (that is, in the late degrees), considered a debilitation in Vedic astrology.  Therefore predictions of tension and deception in the polls may not prove to be very significant after all.

Venus makes a clear t-square to Saturn and Uranus; this may not have much effect except to possibly draw more people to the polls with a feeling of trying to make a change to society.
Lastly, the Sun moves into exact square to the Nodal Axis, which indicates a strong “fatefulness” to events, and a bitter, almost harsh type of outlook, which hopefully resolves to a determination to seize destiny.

The Next Administration

The next chart I will be analyzing will be one I have meant to write about for a long time, the chart of the next administration at noon, January 20, 2009, Washington, DC.  This is a very interesting administration chart, perhaps the most interesting one in the last 20 years; the last couple of ones were atrocious.  How will this one stack up?  Find out in part three of this series to be published shortly.

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
