Details on the Astrology of Benazir Bhutto and Her Assassination

To recap, last week I outlined potentially developmental astrological configurations occurring over the Christmas holiday.  Specifically, the Sun, Moon, and Mars (two malefic planets) were strongly activating a major conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto in sidereal Sagittarius; and also Saturn (a planet giving malefic effects also) turned stationary retrograde during this time period, which I put to be from Dec 21 to 26, 2007. 

It was during this time that the following events occurred:

• Winter snowstorms wrecking havoc and loss of life in the US
• The Nepal Bridge collapse on Christmas Day, resulting the loss of 200 people
• The shocking death of a teenager at the San Francisco Zoo mauled by a tiger that broke loose from its cage
• The assassination of Pakistani political candidate Benazir Bhutto (actually occurring on 12-27), which will have wide repercussions on the global scene

Winter Storms in US 

I personally was exposed to the winter storm as it took place during my annual road trip back home to Wisconsin to visit relatives.  Obviously, there is the danger to the roads, but there is also the underlying tension and anxiety corroborated by the astrology of the moment; which means it doesn’t mean that catastrophe de facto will occur, but that the sense of emotional turbulence is more apt to rise than anything else. 

Nepal Bridge Collapse 

The Christmas Day Nepalese bridge collapse occurred at the time of a mass procession over it at a religious festival.  The bridge was not designed to handle such a load, which was 700-1000 people.  This was the first time that the festival was conducted with a friendlier political atmosphere, yet the shock of the event no doubt shakes the country to the core.  Maybe not all is well with the infrastructure of Nepal, just as happened earlier this year in Minneapolis/St Paul (where I reside); the bridge construction collapse being symbolic of the overall affairs of the nation. 

The teen slaying by the tiger happened on the same day, while this is an isolated incident, the patterns of the stars above our heads reveals that such a horrific event could occur and how it can etch its picture on the national consciousness, which has a global sort of effect. 

The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto 

The slaying of Benazir Bhutto, two time former Prime Minister who was most likely to become the PPP (Pakistan People’s Party) candidate for Prime Minister of Pakistan has far-reaching effects.  Since assassinations are always politically suspect (just who hires who to do the killing), we have to look at who benefits from the action. 

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s opposition has been somewhat subdued and now his relationship with the US as their main man in Pakistan is consolidated, especially as he can blame it on Islamic “extremists” which latches on to the US’s open-ended war on terror.  I don’t want to accuse anyone of “wagging the dog”, but this could lead to a greater level of presence of the US in Pakistan.  Not 24 hours later President Bush was all but promising to annex Pakistan onto it’s areas that it deems need “policing.”

Some would say it is the Taliban who benefit, who perceived Bhutto as a new US ally; or it could have been elements of the US/neocon wing itself that sees the need to stir the pot.  The US government has been ramping up pressure against Pakistan to defeat the Taliban strongholds in adjacent Afghanistan.  

The fact that there nuclear weapons at issues here under the control of Pakistan, it become “imperative” to take proactive action.  And so it goes…the tail wags the dog.  

Elements of Confusion and Deception

I should also say that on the very day of Bhutto’s death, the Sun made a minor hard aspect to Neptune, which means basically that the potential for deception and delusion to be involved in affairs is present.  This was a point I neglected to mention in that day’s Astro-Success, but I find more and more that I need to cite those potentials of that planetary combination every time.

Things are just kind of hazy also as she was first reported to have died of a gunshot wound to the head, but now doctors are revealing that what killed her was the shock of the concussion of the explosion.

At the moment I have a rough birth chart of Benazir Bhutto, the exact birthtime of which would seem to need some minor adjustment.  The chart is accurate enough though for me to see that things were not to be going well for Bhutto.  She had just entered a maha dasa of Venus, which rules her maraka (death giving) seventh house, and Venus itself is very disinclined to success in her chart, if not highly afflicted by malefic planets. This chart I am using however needs further research.  

Saturn had just finished a station squaring her Jupiter in that same maraka seventh house (which itself ruled the other maraka second house).  Almost all the transiting planets were afflicting her highly problematical Mars in the eighth house, and she had just entered a sub-dasa of Mars earlier in the fall. 

Things were just not going well for Benazir Bhutto.  Other Vedic astrologers were predicting a rise to power for her, which may well have happened but everybody seemed to underestimate the power of her enemies or the forces she was up against.  Perhaps ideally she could have risen to the occasion, which is the more common interpration of her astrology; but it would seem that the assassin’s bullet (bomb) intervened.

Some people say she was brought in as a possible alternative to Musharraf if he didn’t work out for the powers that be, but that Musharraf had just signed a deal with the US allowing them to establish a greater counter-insurgency presence in Pakistan, and Bhutto no longer was necessary then.
