Letting Go to Receive

Predictions for the Week of May 30, 2011: Solar Eclipse and Neptune Stationary Retrograde

There are significant developments afoot this week with two major configurations, a solar eclipse and Neptune turning retrograde.  2011 has been extraordinary so far, and as things tend to stay in the condition they are in, so this week could be extraordinary still.  With a solar eclipse having the Sun “winking out” temporarily  and Neptune the planet of “checking out” being set off, some of the significant issues this week could be loss, confusion, and decline of normally-assured-resources.

Solar Eclipse, Neptune Retrograde, Letting Go to ReceiveLoss is always a hard one for the human spirit, which is by nature acquisitive, covetous, and forever chasing after something.  The human spirit, so often synonymous with the ego, identifies so strongly with name, fame, family, possessions, race, religion, etc; that if those things were taken away from the ego, it would truly wonder who and what it is.

Then the spirit, or ego, if you will, has to deal with simply being-ness as the only thing it can “hold onto.”  We have a saying, that if you give away something, you will get something in return.  Therefore, if you give up your possessions, name, fame, status, etc; then what you get in return is a greater concept of what you really are, stripped of all outer modifiers.  You get the Self, or God, if you will.

When the Sun, representing the Light, is taken away symbolically by the eclipse, what you have left is the non-rational, pure concept of existence unconditioned by any human measuring unit or qualitative differentiation.  The light allows you to see, and therefore to perceive life.  Without the ability to see life, you simply have to realize that you are life.  It takes you away the one last vestige of separation from God or Universality, the mind.

So then also when Neptune appears dead in the sky (standing still, called a station before it switches direction), it ceases the quality of movement or changeability.  Giving up those things, then you get eternal changelessness, a quality reserved only for the most sublime states of divinity, or God, if you will.  Neptune then becomes extremely powerful for a time in our affairs, and its impact on our lives then steps up.

Neptune’s function is to dissipate or dissolve our normal states of consciousness and to condition us to more universal, inter-connected, and higher-dimensional ways of thinking.  Adversely, Neptune creates states of disillusionment, despair, and delusionment, the latter being the worst.  From these states of mind come escapist, addictive, and self-defeating behaviors.

Whether it be the positive or the negative modalities of Neptune, the end result is the same: detachment from egoistic ways of thinking.

Neptune is also connected to events having to do with water or liquids, chemicals and substances, toxins, and gases.  So events surrounding these issues may come up in our lives.  I recall a long time ago, when I was starting my studies in astrology, that the Exxon Valdez oil spill occurred right as Neptune when stationary.

So whatever does occur this week, or shortly after it, it might help a lot to see how the Universe is seeking to exalt your consciousness and to dissolve your sense of limitations through these events “good” or “bad.”.

Mon, May 30
No peaking influences.

Tuesday, May 31
Blockages and impediments to communications may arise, as well as the dark screen of pessimism to skew our perceptions of things.  On the other hand, determined focus may deliver useable results.  Dont’ throw up your hands in exasperation too quickly.  Unusual and/or short-lived relationship developments may occur.  (Mercury sesquiquadrate Saturn, Venus semisquare Uranus)

Wednesday, June 1, Solar Eclipse
An unusual cast to the day may intensify late afternoon US time; unusual or misfortunate events might occur.  Be careful of being in risk zones.  A good piece of advise might be just to flow with the course of events today.  Hopefully attaining an even-keeled state of consciousness will be possible.  Later on communications in relationships will be favored.  (Solar eclipse trine Saturn, Mercury tridecile Juno)

Thursday, June 2
Frustrations and mishaps are possible, breakdowns of all types seemingly occurring at the worst times.  Emotional responses may be unusually deep and overpowering, a situation which some people may inadvertently misuse.  Beware of potentially troublesome motivations coming disguised as love.  (Mars biquintile Saturn, Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto)

Friday, June 3
Motivation, energy, and vitality may be at a distinct loss today; chronic physical conditions may flare, and deceitful behaviors may be strongly touched upon in people.  Creativity and spirituality may be uniquely enhanced, and the ability to experience the inter-connectedness of all things and everybody will be heightened.  (Neptune stationary retrograde)

Saturday, June 4
No peaking influences

Sunday, June 5
Relationships may go through rough parts, hopefully to make them stronger.  There could be an enhanced tendency for hysteria or alarm, but at the same time quick, incisive action to resolve problems.  Be careful of being in risk zones, sharp object, and the like.  Mental power will be enhanced, which can lead to breakthroughs and shedding light on mysteries.  (Mars semisquare Uranus, Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn, Mercury quincunx Pluto)

Monday, June 6
It may seem like anything is possible to the believing mind, but be sure that enthusiasm is not applied merely to make up for any lacking good sense or risk assessment.  Intolerance for situations that resist change may reach critical levels, inciting action.  Creative, cultural, and spiritual activities are stimulated.  (Sun semisquare Jupiter, quintile Uranus)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
