The Fault, Dear Brutus, is Not in Our Stars….

The astrology for this week peaks over the upcoming weekend, specifically Saturday, June 23 through Monday, June 25, 2007.

Peaking astrological influences wage their little dramas on the hapless mortals below.

"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings."
–From Julius Caesar (I, ii, 140-141)

It should be said that the power of the stars to affect our lives is not greater than the divine power that is resident in us.  By electing to be underlings, subject to the forces external to us, “fate” becomes the operative word.  The force of change that moves through us then becomes something to be feared and resisted at almost every turn.  For those with such a “medieval” mindset the planets act appropriately harshly.

Others however who embrace a more self-empowered, overcoming, and innately confident consciousness about things (all entirely of a divine nature); the forces that the planets represent will be seen as vehicles for change and radiant tremendously powerful sources of virtue.

In India, which in my opinion the land where astrology truly sprang from, the planets are called grahas, or “seizers”.  To the Hindus the planets are entities that “grab hold” of you, inspire or plague you with their natures.  (graha=grab ahold)

Under the influence of Jupiter I have seen countless times that people are “seized” by an exuberant optimism, religious ardor, or love of truth.  Under the influence of Saturn people become dominated by a feeling of pessimism, seriousness, or determined concentration; and so on.  When the planets move out of aspect, or the dasa (planetary period) ends, the particular influence also abruptly ends.  So it is in our best interest to understand that the planets give us something more than we really have temporarily, and that it is up to us to appropriate and make our own that energy or quality as best as we can while it is present with us.

On Saturday, June 23 this week then Uranus becomes stationary in the sky and begins a backward trek for a few months.  As planets become stationary they become extremely powerful.  With Uranus therefore stationary the urge to break free of present restraints and to vibrantly embrace a spirit of freedom, brotherhood, and culture will be strong.  Unusual, upsetting, or surprising developments may ensue; but it is the “people” who will benefit for sure, as opposed to the “privileged few.”

Blending strongly in will be the opposition of Saturn and Neptune on Monday, June 25.  I have labored hard to establish what this particular configuration means to the world, since a lot of the meanings astrologers have labeled to it seem trite, clichéd, and not well thought out.  To me Saturn and Neptune at aspect means “guileful misrepresentation of truth and the acceptance thereof.”  The lies are thick and overpowering now.

This is so because it is “necessary” to mold and manipulate truth and reality for they are plastic things, at least in their view.  The difference is very little: the clay sculptor or the new world order architect.  Take note particularly now truth and reality as it is presented to you, and as how you believe it to be; civilizations are built on these things.

As Neptune is aspecting Saturn I would say now that aspects of civilization are crumbling as we speak.  Need I point out the hollow ideological rationales for war these days presented without question, the preoccupation with the petty sordidness of the lives of celebrities, or the endless pursuit of pleasure, escapism, or idiosyncrasies through an increasingly electronically plugged-in and tuned-out culture?

It is harder and harder to see a young person these day in touch and aware of his surroundings, rather than oblivious and plugged into their Ipod continually immersed in songs and music glorifying all “benefits” of contemporary human existence.  All of the benefits of satellite receivers, HDTV, and giant plasma screens are meaningless if they still deliver only more of the same old drivel.  We’re escaping life quicker, but we’re fooled to think that it’s heaven on earth.  Watch “The Matrix” again and think about what in that movie was fantasy and what is reality.

So this week and next watch what the gray-haired long-faced ones are trying to make us believe, they are trying to recreate the conceptual substratum of the coming world.  Who do you trust though?  Who becomes your teacher, guru, or “God.”  Don’t be fooled though, taking it from someone who says all the right words, but who’s very life is as corrupt as it will get.  Saturn rules gray-haired long-faced ones, Neptune rules those they lead.

Mon, Jun 18
Harmony and affection should be strong today.  Important relationship matters may come up, including new ones!  (Sun semisquare Venus)

Relationship and love issues should burn hot today, probably early so.  The strong, visceral feeling of loss, regret, or consuming grief may come up for some.  Exciting and/or unusual relationship situations may surface, and as they do a feeling fulfillment may ensue.  Artistic appreciation and social love may expand.  (Sun opposite Pluto, Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto, Venus biquintile Uranus, Venus trine Jupiter)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
