This is a look at the key connections highlighted astrologically between Ron Paul and the USA. Ron Paul right now is experiencing an unprecedented swell of grassroots support and some depth here can give some insights into this phenomena.
The chart of the US I have found to be the most effective and accurate is the July 4, 1776, 5:12 PM, Philadelphia, PA version, especially in terms of the Vedic planetary placements and rulerships. I have posted below a double ringed chart with the US on the inside ring and Ron Paul on the outer.
The Scorpio rising factor along with four planets in the eighth house in the US chart is apropos to such a nation founded on militarism, aggressive expansionism, and secretive machinations therein; not to mention how the US has become such a powerful means of planetary transformation economically, politically, and culturally.
Also, let the reader understand, my goal is to be as completely objective as possible, and place no one or thing in the light of “good” or “bad”; as my philosophy is that all things a part of a higher grand design. I am an American myself, and I have no lost love for my nation; but I strive to be realistic. I am not necessarily a Ron Paul supporter myself.
The position of the Moon in Aquarius in the US chart is interesting. Since the Moon denotes the day to day mindset of the individual or entity in question, the Aquarian themes of freedom, individuality, and a social system that ensures the growth of those qualities run strong in the American ethos.
One of the strongest connections of the chart of Ron Paul to that of the US is his Sun in Leo in strong opposition to the US Moon in Aquarius. This configuration almost implies that he is fit to “rule” over what the US is highly interested in. Leo is the sign of the noble king, which is in polarity with Aquarius which can be said to denote the “common man.”
The Moon also signifies the emotions and feelings of a nation, their common issues at a gut level. RP’s direct tie to the US Moon could indicate that he instinctively knows the "pulse" of the nation and he can work with it.
I’m not saying that Ron Paul “should” be elected or is the “right one” for the job, but I do think that his astrology is uniquely configured with the national sense of identity. The sextile of Ron Paul’s Sun to the US Mars would also indicate to me a certain sense of political savvy and skill in implementing a strategy that would be key to the US’s destiny. The sextile of the US Mars to Ron Paul’s Moon reinforces the basic compatibility of RP to the US’s motivations.
The conjunction of the US Mercury to Ron Paul’s Pluto would indicate to me a certain ability to throw rhetorical bombs at will that have a particularly penetrative, cutting and persuasive effect. Conversely, this could also indicate some secretive manipulations going on, or just maybe adding to the already mentioned sly charisma to achieve his ends.
The conjunction of the US Neptune to his Venus in the sign of Virgo would indicate the perpetual “love affair” American’s could have with him touching off their hidden dreams. The square of the US Mars to the configuration would add to the ability to run and make something happen with this love affair, even if it could get rancorous at times.
The square of the US Uranus to RP’s Saturn could set up difficult impasses of philosophy with the more hardened of America’s institutions, leaving us at times to wonder who indeed is being hardened, Ron Paul or the US. But in the long run this may be the only thing that could move heretofore intractable sectors to change with the times.
There are other configurations that could be commented on, but the broad themes seem to be already brought out. There is a unique Sun/Moon compatibility with the US chart indicating a basic good relationship, and there are elements of being able to use whatever position he has as a bully pulpit to expound on important issues. He may find himself simply at odds philosophically with more set-in ways of people and institutions; but he may serve as a necessary troubling agent of change to enable continued well-being to both parties.
Of course, the whole astrological story of Ron Paul has a few more points to bring out: his current cycles, and his overall presidential “viability” as we run up to the elections in November 2008; and those I will highlight in part 3 of this report to be published shortly.
I also will be writing articles on Hillary Clinton (updating my previous predictions on her), Rudy Guliani, Mitt Romney, Barak Obama, and maybe Mike Huckabee; and then seeing who stacks up best both politically and astrologically.
