Neptune at Opposition, Mercury Direct, Autumnal Equinox, Pluto Retrograde
The first part of September 2017 has a unique Mercury-Mars configuration, which may heat up things early on. On September 3, Mercury and Mars make a closer-than-usual conjunction and Mercury turns Stationary direct on Sept 5, just as there is a full moon conjunct Neptune.
Mercury-Mars combinations are nearly always hyper-exciting, giving a tendency towards impulsive or near-hysterical emotional reactions. Life needs a little drama now and then, Mercury and Mars here can put on their regular show.
The full moon conjunct Neptune occurring nearly simultaneously can have the effect of adding weirdness, disorientation, or confusion to the day. Mishaps may have very unusual or hard-to-determine origins, and real solutions may require checking and double checking the results.
Just prior to the above configurations, transiting Jupiter enters sidereal Libra (Raman ayanamsha), which indicates a positive shift for all; exactly how depends on where sidereal Libra is in your horoscope.
On September 13, Venus conjuncts the North Node and the Sun squares Saturn, which may have an unfortunate thwarting action on the beautiful Venus-Node influence. Sometimes love requires us to let go of things, rather than fulfill our desire to embrace things, situations, or persons.
The Autumnal Equinox of exactly equal night and day occurs on Sept 21-22 (depending on your time zone), signaling the turning of the seasons. This means darker and colder up here in the Northern Hemisphere, while it starts to get lighter and warmer for the Southern Hemisphere. As the Sun moves into tropical Libra (as it always does on the Autumnal Equinox), we get a sort of equilibrium: not too warm and not too cold, rather nice.
I’ll spare you my sidereal-tropical rants about the astronomy-astrology this time, but it is my opinion that the tropical zodiac is more calendrical, keeping time; the sidereal zodiac is stellar, more seemingly attuned to fate, the boundaries of life, and destiny.
On September 27 and 28, Jupiter opposes Uranus and Pluto turns stationary on those days respectively. We may see surprising shifts, with some of them rather hopeful and exciting.
