Week of March 20 to 28, 2008: Vernal Equinox
by Curtis Burns,

On this day, it is when both the day and night are of equal length.  It inaugurates spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern.  These are the times immediately following the extremes of both winter and summer, times when men and women can work in the relative comfort of spring and autumn.

Vernal Equinox 2008

On this day, it is when both the day and night are of equal length.  It inaugurates spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern.  These are the times immediately following the extremes of both winter and summer, times when men and women can work in the relative comfort of spring and autumn.

There is also a strong Moon during this time because it is at its fullness (the full moon).  You could say it is a strong Sun to, since it is now moving into exact square to Pluto on the day of the Vernal Equinox; and so therefore the Moon aspects in also.

When the Sun aspects the Pluto this can be a time of breakdown of the ego; that is, the human ego, as an illusory psychic construct peaks and burns in a vicarious way from Pluto’s influence.  Since the human ego is a psychic construct, its peaking only hastens its demise.  As Buddhists say, all is impermanent-transitory; they come, and then they go.  So with Pluto things go “boom” a lot.

There has been a lot happening, especially on the world economic front and those events have been corroborated by the configurations of the planets as well.  I wasn’t able to write about it because of being hip-deep in technical matters, but right during the Bear Stearns buyout, that rocked financial markets globally, Jupiter moved into exact minor aspect to Saturn.

The Fed drops interest rates three quarters of a point and politicians suddenly come out of the woodwork assuring us that things are okay and the US economy is “basically sound”.  Or such things happen as a tornado drives through the heart of downtown Atlanta, and the sudden pain of flooding and damage occurs in the Midwest US.  I read just now that a 7.8 earthquake happened in China.

So hopefully after March 20 (today as I write) things will settle down; but as I am looking ahead I can see trouble on Easter Sunday March 23rd (Sun quincunx Saturn), Monday the 24th (Mars tridecile Uranus), Wednesday, the 26th (Mars sesquiquadrate Neptune) and Friday, March 28th (Sun semisquare Neptune, Sun biquintile Saturn).  So turbulence may very well be in the forecast.

Further on Sunday, March 30 the Sun squares Mars, and then on Wednesday, April 2nd Pluto goes stationary retrograde.

Things may be very “hot” now, sensitive and subject to change with this kind of astrology occurring during this immediate time frame.  It may seem “upsetting” during this time, but things that can’t be avoided any longer and now mercifully being let out.  You can even see the universal action of Divine mercy in the seeming worst of catastrophes.

Fear, of course, always causes one to retreat, harden themself against anticipated struggles, and make it even harder to adjust the next time to the flow of events.  It’s better to retain a sense of buoyancy and trust in the greater flow of the current that seems to be taking them to a certain destination.  Fear causes rigidity, which causes accidents and injuries.  No-fear or even a sense of enthusiastic optimism cause one to relax and move through events smoothly.  The same goes as much for living life as it does for kayaking down the Yellowstone.

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
