Week of Dec 31 to Jan 7, 2008
by Curtis Burns,

Mon, Dec 31
No peaking influences.

Tue and Wed, Jan 1 & 2
The New Year kicks off quite literally with a perfecting opposition of Mars and Pluto and a quintile of Jupiter and Uranus.  The energy starts on Tuesday and peaks Wednesday.  Deeply impactful and excitedly opportunistic energies are involved.  The danger here is that the sensitive human psyche caught in the middle of this panorama of completely different astrological players may spawn half-formed guesses and premature conclusions, which ultimately may not go far.  Those however of a more balanced, and already-exercised mind may find powerful motivation to bring about change and vibrant spirit of innovation at their command.  A quintile of Juno to Neptune today also will bring hope and a truer love to relationships, if some self-defeating tendencies can be avoided.

Thur, Jan 3

Early on (European time) relationships may hit stones of stumbling.  If some acrimonious feelings and bitterness can be overcome, some key problems to resolve may be laid bare.  The first step always in progress of course is to eliminate the spirit of blame and to assume one of responsibility and determination to resolve.  It may be a little difficult to get past a certain amount of pessimism, which may darken the picture; if not inhibit the thinking process, but the other side of Saturn is that of persevering faith that things will turn out well if we do our part.  (Mercury and Juno aspecting Saturn)

Fri, Jan 4
Important connections between people may be brought out, as well as the state of the distribution of power and control within them. A strong feeling of fate or destiny may seize the moment, certain key parts of your psyche and life-path may be illuminated.  (Mercury semisquare Juno, Sun aspects Nodes)

Sat, Jan 5
No peaking influences.

Sun, Jan 6
Relationships may hit dark patches again and the feeling of love may seem to dwindle and die. It may only be however the occluding illusion of your own fears projected onto the situation and the individuals involved.  Underneath there may be a very strong flame of love, urgently awaiting your activation through determination, perseverance, and honor.  In other areas a sense of alarm (most certainly of false pretenses) may seize the mind suddenly causing impetuous or irrational displays of anger or aggression; but in other ways the opportunity for the mind to gain greater sharpness and assertiveness though the instrumentality of difficult situations will be there also.  (Venus square Saturn, quintile Neptune; Sun sextile Uranus, Mercury quincunx Mars)

Mon, Jan 7
This could be a key day to instill new love and appreciation into relationships.  The heart may overrule all other factors and powerfully cement people to each other and situations.  (Venus conjunct Juno)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
