Undercurrents of Unrequited Desire
by Curtis Burns,

Astrology for the Week of Oct 12, 2009

Undercurrents of Unrequited DesireThis week there is an interesting configuration of planet having to do with relationship themes early on; and then it pops up throughout the rest of the week.  Over Monday and Tuesday will be the conjunction of Venus and Saturn, which will have curbing, inhibiting, but hopefully grounding influence on relationships.  The two planets themselves will be sextiled by Mars, which will be throwing in undercurrents un unrequited  and suppressed desires surely having a complicating effect to the mix.

There was some rather interesting developments with the conjunction of Mars and the South Node in Cancer last week: new issues in the life of important mother figures, Barak Obama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize on the very day of its exactness bringing question to mind about what is peace and what is war, and there have been a series of powerful earthquakes and tsunamis in the Asian Pacific resulting in much death and destruction.

I am tempted to say that the Vedic aspect of Jupiter upon Mars and the South Node and the fact that the configuration itself took place at the early degrees of Cancer helped to lessen the impact of the astrology, some however felt its impact quite strongly.

Mon and Tues, Oct 12-13
Over today and tomorrow significant but possibly strained relationship dynamics may be manifesting, there will be undercurrents of love and passion, but there will also be limiting or inhibiting factors involved.  Pathological conditions of relationships may come out, as well as issues of repression and suppression of the natural inclination to connect with another.  (Venus conjunct Saturn, Mars sextile Saturn, Juno conjunct Uranus)

Wed, Oct 14
Love and/or the appreciation of beauty may swell within the heart, but just as well could be pleasant but ultimately distracting and escapist behaviors.  (Venus biquintile Neptune)

Thurs, Oct 15
Love as a significant force may enter our affairs right now, whether it is a significant benign force is the question though. Sometimes love is not its own justification; issues of jealousy, manipulation, and coercion through love may come out. The obsessive nature of relationships right now may be observed.  (Venus square Pluto, Sun parallel Juno, Mercury sesquiquadrate Neptune)

Friday, Oct 16
Opportunities may arise, and it may feel quite good to spend money or use up valuable time and resources but the gains over the expenditures may be questionable.  Judgment and the sense of moral integrity may be at a weak point; deceitful, addictive, or escapist behaviors may be activated, as well as that of over-pessimism.  (Sun quincunx Juno, Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter, Sun trine Neptune, Mercury contraparallel Saturn)

Sat, Oct 17
No peaking influences

Sunday Oct 18
Energy, initiative, and the will to press forward past opposition will be strongly intensified; some may be tempted to take inappropriate advantage of situations, but the potentials for important personal breakthroughs physical, emotionally, and mentally are very high.  Physical and mechanical breakdowns are possible.  Important comings together between people are highlighted, but deep issues between them may be revealed.  At some point early on (more European time zones) there could be moments of alarm, urgency or hysteria.  (Mars quincunx Pluto, Sun square Nodes, Mercury quintile Pluto)

Monday, Oct 19
No peaking influences.

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
