There’s an upcoming astrological configuration in the very near future, a Super Moon on Friday, Dec, 12, 2008. What is a super moon? This is basically an alignment of the Sun, Moon, and the Earth called perigee-sysygy when the Moon is at it’s closest to earth (perigee). A very big full moon.
Sysygy basically means “three planetary bodies in a line”. Richard Nolle coined the term “super moon”, and it can be either a new or full moon that is at 90%+ of perigee. I couldn’t tell you hard facts that this does indeed coincide with powerful astrological effects, but it is definitely something to be aware of.
Also in this article I open up on the astrological community in general; I hope I still have friends after this gets out 😉
There’s an upcoming astrological configuration in the very near future, which I was only half aware of. I knew that there was a super-moon in December 2008 but I kind of forgot to keep it in mind even though I have all that info posted down the side of this website. However and astute friend of mine brought to my attention that this super moon will be configuring in to this week’s astrology pattern, which I had already mapped out for SWN readers.

They only happen about once a year or so.

As it happens, this super full moon will be in tight alignment in with the heretofore referenced Mars/Saturn/Uranus t-square. So this completes a fourth corner and makes it technically a grand square configuration, which is a very big thing in western astrology.
To me this new leg of the configuration could be a more “transitory” transit than most, new moons and full moons seem to pass under the radar screen all the time; i.e. not very significant. However for that Friday, December 12, 2008, it could be the astrological straw that broke the camel’s back and triggers all sorts of things.
A comparison of full moons at apogee and perigee
I should say though that this falls in the late degrees of the signs (25+) and traditionally that is considered to be weak areas of any sign, so it could be a lot of shouting and alarm over nothing.
Western astrology uses a lot of mathematical/geometrical conventions like this, and I believe it was forced to because of the impotency of the zodiac that it chooses to use. To me there’s a little too much of the three-dimensional, linear mindset that is enforced by modern “westernized” culture and intelligencia. That is, western astrology tries to seek validation by making all sorts of scientific correlations such as comets, asteroids, harmonic aspects, quasars, black holes, and gravity waves from the planets.
(On the left is a chart of the upcoming grand square that this super moon completes, and I write about in more detail in this article.)
These are things that can be measured by scientific instruments that were designed and built by some very “academically correct” people. From a more holistic, higher-dimensional, and spiritual standpoint these facts may not amount to anything; and God knows I tried to employ all these things in my earlier days as an astrologer.
But when I stepped in the rich world of Jyotish (Vedic astrology) symbolism, methodology and interpretation; it was as if the pulsating heart of cosmic truth powered my ability to help people.
I had better drop the subject right now before I get myself into more trouble; but you’ll notice that I do use technical western data as it has relevance, but I have been mapping out and testing these things for over twenty years now and I’ve learned a thing or two about what really works.
As I have always observed, the planets align and things do happen in the earth that are tangible, but by and large these configurations correlate with issues on the minds of many people and they can be observed mainly in the psychological stress levels of people. Then the sense of urgency passes and things resume “normality”, but it is always the smallest handful of people who become the ones permanently changed by the energies and who make something of it.
So there may be a lot of sound and fury this weekend, but when the storm passes most everyone becomes lulled back to complacency. There will be a few though who will chose to grab destiny by their bare hands and they will be the ones who embody the energies of the stars and help move a world. Will you be one of them?
