Mercury Retrograde But Don’t Let It Bother You
by Curtis Burns,

Astrology for the Week of April 11, 2010

This week has a big “gap” astrologically with nothing going on.  There is a new (dark) moon on Wednesday, April 13; which may be a quiet time in some ways, the start of a new cycle that that may not reveal its fruitage initially.

However on Saturday there is a delightful interaction of benefic planets, which should bring about positive social situations and general good luck.  Mercury turns retrograde on that same day, but its negative effects are not much to be concerned about; the key thing to understand is that a benefic planet is standing still in the sky accentuating its effects for everyone to benefit from.

With the exception of a few bumps in the road on Tuesday, April 13 and Monday, April 19, things look to be fairly good; notwithstanding issues in the economy, the Middle East, Russia and Kyrgyzstan, Washington, DC, Poland, or even the earth itself.

Sun, April 11
Early on, more so in European time zones; exciting, but fleeting relationship developments may occur.  The key is not to try to hold onto and try to control the other person or the captivating energy of the moment, but let it live through you and move on as it will.  (Venus semisquare Uranus)

Mon, April 12
Relationships may hit rough patches, calling into question the level of commitment of each party.  Remember that demonizing, or shaming or blaming the other person is the easy way out of things; revealing more of the accuser’s condition than anything else.  Rough patches successfully navigated here may lead the two of you to greener pastures very soon.  (Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn)

Tues, April 13
The raw intensity of energy today and the penetrative capacity of the mind will be strongly accentuated, a situation which may be effectively used or misused by individuals.  People may be pushing the envelope in a number of ways, not all of them nicely.  Obsessive and compulsive behaviors may be activated, and the sexual urge may be formidable.  Breakdowns of a mechanical or physical nature are possible, as well as personal breakthroughs.  (Sun tridecile Pluto)

Wed, April 14
New Moon in sidereal Aries

Thurs, April 15
No peaking influences

Friday, April 16
No peaking influences

Sat, April 17
Interesting and socially fortuitous day is in the offing with benefic planets triggering each other.  Early on there may be strong emotional and relationship situations arising.  Mercury turns retrograde today for the next three weeks, afflicting slightly business and communicating matters.  (Mercury stationary retrograde, Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto, Venus sextile Jupiter)

Sun, April 18
Early on creative and spiritual affairs will be enhanced.  The power to luminously activate one’s energies will be easier; that is, to be inspired and to act.  For some however deceitful tendencies and physical weaknesses may come out, possibly activating allergies and sensitivities.  (Sun sextile Neptune)

Mon, April 19
The emotional tone of the start of the week may be hindered by sudden flare ups of anxiety and pessimism coinciding with delays and obstacles to the normal smooth course of affairs.  Today will be an opportunity to see in the mirror self-limiting factors, illusions and delusions of inadequacy that you still prefer to hold on to. Remember, if there is a problem, you yourself most likely were the root cause of the situation.  Accepting responsibility eliminates the need to shame or blame others that allows the status quo to continue.  (Sun quincunx Saturn)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
