May 12-19, 2008: The Power of Fate
by Curtis Burns,

Astrology the Power of Fate Kali This week two planets become perpendicular to the Nodal Axis, a powerful indicator of life direction and focus for any individual chart.  As planets move in high relief to them, powerful forces of "fate" or "destiny" seem to be unleashed in our affairs. At the same time they are considered very malefic (or "evil"), bringing misfortune, anxiety and turbulence to otherwise calm lives.  Fate (or destiny) though does not work in any which the human conscious prefers.

Change in life is driven by events as much as anything. In fact there is very little we can choose or control in our lives as we go on, only in how we react or adjust to what the universe throws our way.  But this is indeed the force of fate in our lives, many times it gives off the appearance of the Hindu goddess Kali , all black, fierce, and dancing with a necklace of severed human heads.  But Kali is simply another face of the Creation that is solely driven to exalt and transform the potential of your soul into that of God-hood….

Astrology the Power of Fate Sun Venus and Nodes This week two planets (the Sun and Venus) become perpendicular to the Nodal Axis.  The Nodes are called Rahu (North Node) and Ketu (South Node); they are powerful indicators of life direction and focus for any individual chart.  As planets move in high relief to them, powerful forces of "fate" or "destiny" seem to be unleashed in our affairs.

The Sun exactly square the Nodes on Tue, May 13, and Venus squares on Mon, May 19.  These have the potential to be significant days.

At the same time the Nodes are considered very malefic (or "evil"), bringing misfortune, anxiety and turbulence to otherwise calm lives.  Fate (or destiny) though does not work in any which the human conscious prefers.  The human consciousness does not like change, work, or giving of itself; therefore the human psyche reacts many times adversely to what Rahu or Ketu bring.

Change in life is driven by events as much as anything. In fact there is very little we can choose or control in our lives as we go on, only in how we react or adjust to what the universe throws our way.  But this is indeed the force of fate in our lives, many times it gives off the appearance of the Hindu goddess Kali, all black, fierce, and dancing with a necklace of severed human heads.  But Kali is simply another face of the Creation that is solely driven to exalt and transform the potential of your soul into that of God-hood.

People may shun, fear, and condemn this Eastern spiritual image; but surely everyone will meet Kali on the road sometime and they will not be the same when she leaves.  It is better not to quickly judge so-called "monsterous" things, for when you look at it. is the monster you see the monster that you still let live in you?

Myanmar Astrology the Power of Fate

In Myanmar last week as Cyclone Nergis moved across that nation, was it the power of the Devil or Kali thatAstrology the Power of Fate Kali descended upon them?   One could say it was their own karma coming full circle, or that it was some kind of mass national sacrifice spritually paying off a karmic debt buying more time for the rest of the globe to start doing things right.  One could also say it was the power of God as Kali descending to the peoples of Myanmar and sending them an influx of energy that catapulted their souls heavenward, but unfortunately left their bodies broken on the ground in the process.

One cannot fully know, probably a little of all of these scenarios are involved.  Their lives are irrevocably changed now, new situations and opportunities will now come to them, ones that are only now possible because they have been "released" through the agency of the cyclone from situations and ways of life that refused to admit change into them.

The universe moves terribly at times and then it moves gently and sublimely others, both are different faces of the same organic whole system.  Embracing and accepting them allows peace to enter in and is a further step in release from the confines of superstition, fear, and limitation.

Day by Day:

Mon, May 12
Significant relationship developments are at hand, especially how power is distributed in them. In other areas a feeling of nothing being impossible can help set the stage for good things down the road; the problem is in internalizing and making permanent in your psyche today’s influences.  Whatever you think is possible, as long as you can believe it. (Sun trine Jupiter, biquintile Juno)

Tue, May 13
There could be a strong influence present of people coming together and developments happening in our affairs that are "fated".  There could also be attendant stresses, possibly brought on by that sense of a "Higher Hand". An overwhelming feeling may commandeer and temporarily tyrannize relationships; what feels so good and right may not be good or right at all.  Emotions and sensations can temporarily usurp reason, but it returns soon enough.  Beware manipulation in relationships.  (Sun square Node, Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto)

Wed, May 14
This could be a very unusual and/or powerful day.  Strong compulsions could be activated, but at the same time the energy available to move on them may be mysteriously absent or lost somehow.  Deceptive (self or otherwise) forces may need to be contended with as well as tendencies to self-sabotage your best intererst.  Rationalizations may about, but the bottom line is that you knew better but you "fooled" yourself against it anyway.  Incredibly unusual, supernatural, or transformative forces may be at work.  Discussions, investigations, and study in general could produce wonderful fruit; the ability to sell or persuade should be enhanced; again, be careful of exaggeration or hyperbole.  (Sun square Neptune, biquintile Pluto; Mercury biquintile Jupiter)

Thur, May 15

No peaking influences.

Fri, Sat, Sun, May 16,17, & 18
Over this three day period there will be various relationship configurations perfecting.  Logic would have it that love should grow stronger, especially if it is work on, and that new friendships may blossom.  (Mars biquintile Juno, Sun quincunx Juno, Venus biquintile Juno, Venus sextile Uranus and trine Jupiter)

Mon, May 19, FULL MOON IN SIDEREAL SCORPIO
A full moon is considered very fortunate in Vedic astrology, as it is fully illuminated by the Sun’s rays, the mind which the Moon symbolizes is at peak potency.  Favored work: making psychological breakthroughs, deconstruction, and anything that demands intensity of concentration.  Relationships, passion, and love will be highlighted as well.  (Full Moon in sidereal Scorpio, Venus square Nodes, quintile Mars)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
