June 16-23, 2008: Astro-Success
by Curtis Burns,

Highlights for this week are Wed, Thurs, and Fri, June 18, 19, and 20.  The Sun and Venus move into opposition to Pluto, Mercury turns direct, and we have this year’s summer solstice.  There should be a lot of energy concentrating in relationships, how we distribute power within them, and then Friday should also be quite active with Mercury stationing.

Overview:

Highlights for this week are Wed, Thurs, and Fri, June 18, 19, and 20.  The Sun and Venus move into opposition to Pluto, Mercury turns direct, and we have this year’s summer solstice.  There should be a lot of energy concentrating in relationships, how we distribute power within them, and then Friday should also be quite active with Mercury stationing.  A look at this month’s graphic ephemeris (at page bottom) though shows potentially more energies for developmental changes for all.

I’m going to be covering this in more depth on an ongoing basis.  Right now I’m reorganizing a lot of the info-presentation on the site, which I’m sure you’re noticing already.  It may be a while before I can get a clean and organized look to the new information being posted, but hopefully that will be soon.  CB

DAY BY DAY:

Mon, Jun 16
The ability to work with others may be assisted; it is especially good that some constructive goal-orientation is involved.  In other ways the passion of desire may afflict and distort relationship dynamics.  The Moon is at its monthly apogee today, farthest from earth; it may somehow lessen the potency of the mind.  (Mars trine Juno)

Wed, Jun 18, Full Moon
Sometimes emotions are like a burning flame inside; you swear it almost hurts.  Love however is not measured by how much it hurts, but by how much you are able to give, hold on, and stay committed through thick and thin.  An excitement or hysteria may temporarily seize attention and threaten the peace of the moment, but a little bit of constructive proactivity can go a long way to smooth out sudden feelings of intolerability of some things.  (Venus opposite Pluto, Mars quincunx Uranus)

Thur, Jun 19
Mental and intellectual activity is favored, and may have an obvious kick to it.  The traditional green light is on again to start major enterprises, sign important documents, or buy a car. (Mercury stationary direct)

Fri, Jun 20, Summer Solstice
The problem with an ego is that sometimes it thinks it can do anything, or that it doesn’t need to answer to anyone.  But is it the ego that is really running the show; are there not hidden unconscious forces in play, motivational subtexts affecting the outcome of affairs, and perhaps a more insidious intelligence in control?  The ego’s great pride blinds it to reality, stroking itself with all its imagined strength and authority, but ultimately it leads to its greatest pitfalls. So today a great sense of personal power may be experienced but also that of lawlessness, impunity and temptation to vices.  There could be manifestations of breakdown, corruption, and decay.  (Sun opposite Pluto)

Sat, Jun 21
A moderate, but constructive tone may enter our connections today; people may be more inclined to work out solutions instead of creating barriers to each other.  Relationships of distinct age difference may come about. (Venus sextile Saturn)

Sun, Jun 22
No peaking influences

Mon, Jun 23

GRAPHIC EPHEMERIS:

This type of planetary transit display enables an overview of the entire month.  All crossed lines indicate hard aspects forming between planets: conjunctions, oppositions, square, semisquare, or sesquiquadrates.

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
