Western World’s Bubble Popped: May 26-June 2, 2008
by Curtis Burns,

Western World's Bubble Popped….Of course clinging to old ways and not questioning the paradigms that rule our life is what living in the western materialistic world is all about.  "Everybody" does it this way so it must be correct, right?  After all, nobody would go on perpetually with a system that is inherently flawed, right?

The Creator that made everything for us also gave us a brain and a discriminative faculty; not only that It gave us Free Will to do with what was given to us as we please.  You basically are a God unto your own universe that you create, and you can populate it with your own constellations of gods, demons, and battling forces; but it does not de facto have to replicate the Greater Universe which surrounds and encapsulates it.

So people can be content in their little bubbles of orthodoxy, ruling laws and its endless parade of mayic (illusory) images within; but it does not have to be reality for one minute.  Of course all bubbles do pop, and the figure within, that little ego/soul is going to have to see that it strove for all the glory of the little universe, when it could have just as easily reached for and attached itself to the larger, real universe around it and reaped a much larger reward.

Recently I received an email from a friend talking about the use of an astrological technique that I have not given much attention: parallels and contraparallels of declination.  To be honest I juggle a lot of factors: western astrology, harmonics, asteroids, Vedic astrology, and a few other schools of astrology; so one more thing to incorporate only adds to my work.   Western World's Bubble Popped

However the Magi Astrology people are very gung ho on the use of parallels and contraparallels in astrology, so I think I need to test it out.  From now on you’re going to see parallels and contraparallels of declination in the daily Astro-Success readings.  Of course I’ve always thought Western astrology needs to resort to complicated, mathematical techniques such as tightly orbed aspects, parallels of declination, midpoints, asteroids, hypothetical planets, multiple house systems, etc., to make up for the fact that their tropical zodiac is such a dud.

What are parallels and contraparallels of declination in astrology?  Briefly, this is when two planets occupy the same or opposing degrees of declination (vertical axis), or distance above or below the celestial equator; they can be anywhere on the zodiac but the have the same degree of distance above or below the celestial equator; and they are considered to be similar to a conjunction or opposition of planets respectfully.

If I wasn’t such an exemplar of spiritually balanced emotional poise I would get downright frustrated by otherwise very intelligent and scientifically spiritual people’s clinging to the western astrological zodiac.  I think an honest comparison of the zodiacs would lead most people to the conclusion that the more ancient sidereal (starry) system is superior. I did the western zodiac ten years with clients before I switched over, and not without a lot of comparisons.

Testing Things Out

Of course, clinging to old ways and not questioning (or testing out) the paradigms that rule our lives is what living in the western materialistic world is all about.  Everybody in the West does it this way (uses the tropical zodiac) so it must be correct, right?  After all, nobody would go on perpetually with a system that is inherently flawed, right?

Why do people go to the same church (orthodox) they always have, even though it’s doctrine is so watered down or so full of error that it can hardly heal any kind of spiritual affliction?  Usually it is because that is the way it has always been for them, and it is assumed that the paradigms that surrounded, molded their life, and directed their path heretofore were of a truth or any great virtue and therefore they should be followed.

The Creator that made everything for us also gave us a brain and a discriminative faculty.  Not only that It gave us Free Will to do with what was given to us as we please.  From that we reap positive and negative karma, which has its own molding effect on us.  You basically are a God unto your own universe that you create, and you can populate it you with your own constellations of gods, demons, and battling forces; but it does not de facto have to resemble the Greater Universe which surrounds and encapsulates it.

Living In Their Own World

Western World's Bubble PoppedSo people can be content in their little bubbles of orthodoxy, ruling laws and its endless parade of mayic (illusory) images within; but it does not have to be reality for one minute.  Of course all bubbles do pop, and the figure within, that little ego/soul is going to have to see that it strove for all the glory of the little universe, when it could have just as easily reached for and attached itself to the larger, real universe around it and reaped a much larger reward.

No doubt I have stepped on the toes of many of my SWN readers here, but you don’t pay me to reinforce all your cherished illusions and delusions.  You want me to penetrate closer to the truth for you to evaluate and judge for yourself if it is valuable.  I prove the superiority of the system in all the articles and researched features that I present here (although that is not really my goal).  The bottom line is to most effectively address the needs of the client using whichever system is most proficient in that goal.

Rant, Rant, Rant

So dear SWN readers please forgive my rant here, there actually is a method to my madness.  As imperfectly as I may have said it, it gave me an opportunity to write about the self-accepted laws that rule our lives and that they may be completely illusory, and that’s a valid SWN subject 😉

You’ll notice I don’t completely disavow the western system, but I find almost no rhyme or reason for its use of the tropical zodiac.  I had an opportunity to talk to Ken Bowser a noted siderealist astrologer here in the Twin Cities, and he told me an amazing thing.

Back in the days when Western Astrology was aborning, in the early centuries after Christ, the use of zodiacs was a non-issue.  Nobody harped about it because the tropical and sidereal zodiacs were basically the same.  Since that time though the precession of the equinoxes has slipped an additional 23+ degrees backward and we’re starting to get into some serious discrepancies.  Not to mention that in those intervening years the Western world has slipped into and out of a dark age with a firm grip by the orthodox religions where thinking is not so appreciated!

Vedic astrology no doubt was the ancestor of Western astrology, Plato and Pythagoras borrowed a lot of ideas from India including karma and reincarnation, so it is no stretch to say that the West incorporated whole cloth Vedic astrology and modified to their own proclivities.

Jyotish (the other name of Vedic astrology) is the most pure form of astrology today that uses planets, signs, and houses.  I continually find it to be outstandingly powerful and relevant to modern life.  Combined with an open-mined perspective of world affairs, it is nearly unbeatable.

Day by Day Readings:

Mon, May 26
Physical and mental faculties may be unduly burdened by latent toxic conditions now becoming sensitized.  Tendencies to act or think deceitfully may precipitate events that have questionable circumstances to them.  Events or issues concerning water, oil, toxins, fluids in general, intoxicants, or gases may come about.  In other areas though inspiration and creativity can be stimulated.  (Mercury and Neptune stationary retrograde)

Tue, May 27
Exuberant enthusiasm may seize this day, such energy and boundless optimism can take you far.  Of course a strong blast of fortune’s favor will not last too long, you better have some reserved impetus at your disposal.  A lot of times that Jupiterean elation’s bubble can be easily popped at the appearance of obstacles, delays, and downright nasty situations.  Sometimes I find though that that uplifting enthusiasm is available at any time that can literally float you over the obstacles, but accessing it at will is a clearly spiritual/meditative/yogic process, and that takes some effort itself.  (Sun sesquiquadrate Jupiter)

Wed, May 28
Relationships, connections, and desire and highlighted today.  There could be a delicate sudden/unusual commonality between people that may emerge, and then deeper issues of power, control, competitiveness, or passion may be brought up.  (Venus quintile Uranus, Mars sesquiquadrate Juno)

Thur, May 29
Exuberance similar to Tuesday this week re-emerges.  What seems so sure, true, and great right now may in actuality be only because of your projected hopes, dreams, and ideals.  (Sun contra-parallel Jupiter)

Fri, May 30
Important connections and events may be brought about today.  There should also be an abundance of good cheer and illumined perspective to this day; be careful of overspending, overindulging, and diffusive superficiality in your actions and interactions.  (Sun quintile Node, Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter)

Sat, May 31
No peaking influences.

Sun, Jun 1
Early on today, more European time zones, a rather pessimistic or "dark" influence may overshadow mental/intellectual processes, possibly inhibiting or hindering actions.  Some people may respond to this situation paralytically, others may take it as an opportunity to achieve a greater degree of realism and practicality to their actions/thinking.  In other areas love in relationships could grow.  (Mercury quintile Saturn, Venus quintile Node)

Mon, Jun 2
Vitality, will power, and the ability to assert yourself may be mysteriously absent. Physical sensitivities, allergies, and chronic conditions may flare; all of which have the effect of producing hard-to-define problems, health crisis’s, or even causing people to outplay latent deceitful behavioral patterns. People may respond in less than honest ways, or act in ways that hurt themselves as much as other people.  Some people engage in higher than usual examples of escapism: intoxication, TV and movies, or just refusing to get out of bed (and a lot of illnesses may "conveniently" appear).  In other areas, relationships may take on almost divinely luminous qualities, which of course is mostly a subjective phenomenon, and just as many times is something quite less than the divine trying to disguise itself as so (and which should not be questioned). (Sun tridecile Neptune, Juno sextile Neptune)

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
