Wandering Stars to Whom is Reserved the Blackness of Forever
by Curtis Burns,

Apr 16-23, 2007
When something stands still, is it still really moving?  Has it just become one with the movement of the entire cosmos, and it only appears to be non-active?  When things are moving here and there, in and out, up, down, and all around; is there purpose to their plan, or are they just wandering aimlessly all over the universe, lost, unconnected, and in despair?

Apr 16-23, 2007
This week Saturn, the bringer of coldness, anxiety, and fear stops dead in the sky from its long backwards shuffle and turns forward once again.  As it is said, the slower a planet moves, the deeper it reaches into our psyche; so as Saturn stops dead it goes deep, right to our core.

When something stands still, is it really moving?  Has it just become one with the movement of the entire cosmos, and it only appears to be non-active?  When things are moving here and there, in and out, up, down, and all around; is there purpose to their plan, or are they just wandering aimlessly all over the universe, lost, unconnected, and in despair?

When you are still, at peace, and in a state of total ease; are you in that same place as Buddha at meditation, Jesus as he roamed the hills of Palestine, or Krishna as he played his flute and made childlike games with his friends in his youth.

Maybe this week you can think of Saturn, the tester, the forger of identity, and the ever present goad to success, accomplishment and achievement comes into that same interval beyond time, space, and chaos and pulls up out of you and the world all that is unlike him, or a lesser reflection of him.  All of the attendant fears, anxieties, and obsessions surrounding him (but also obscuring him) may pull up their own reflections in you and the world.

I would not be surprised if you felt a bit more tendency to obsess over self-presumed negatives, to dwell on so-called “pessimistic” subjects, and to feel a noticeable absence of that carefree confidence the expects good things to happen.  For others they may feel the shadow of Saturn through misfortunes, oppression, and the tightening of the noose of restriction on their world.  Some may cry in pain and loss, but the real pain is deeper within as through their suffering they give into depression, despair, and grief giving power to the illusion that there is no hope, love, or goodness to life.  In giving into those emotions they cut themselves off from their souls and a great split in the psyche occurs and they indeed become lost, wandering entities, which Jude 13 refers to as “whom are reserved the blackest of darkness forever.”

But it takes a long time to get to that point, because the universe created this wonderful thing called karma that forces us to get up out of our ruts and spurs on to re-find that inner, eternal source of hope, love, wisdom, and strength.  Behind karma’s drudgery, friction, and struggle lies Saturn’s shining, inspiring, and transfiguring presence urging you on to eternal hope, fulfillment, and cosmic reality.  Don’t lose the forest for the trees, if you will; don’t forget the bigger picture in your daily struggles and arduous journeys.

As we move into what seems to be pivotal astrology for our times, maybe indicating shock and alarm during the last days of April (4-28-07 to be exact), we have to realize that the world is always taking baby steps toward change.  Change for the most part is a gradual thing.  But along that path there will be the occasional stick or stone that yields up much crying and wailing, but hardening the babe onto the path of manhood.  So humanity moves on, shaking more and more souls upward every cycle.  Hopefully a critical mass of potential change comes about every few hundred or thousand years or so (like now) and maybe a dramatic worldwide change is on the offing, no doubt mothered along by any amount of crisis, stress, or dynamic opportunity.

As I said earlier on this website, 2007 looks to be an important year, don’t forget to have a little fun along the way.  You’ll be remembering it for a long time to come.

Day by day readings to come soon…..

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
