This year definitely does not end with a whimper.  Outer planet stations are without a doubt the most powerful of astrological phenomena; slow planets which work very deeply upon our psyche, become absolutely still working their effects even deeper upon us, which many times requires something to occur on a physical level to get past our mental and emotional density.

Infinite care and compassion can be seen how this occurs, especially in light of how things always could be worse and if one looks hard enough a way out is always provided to every challenge and crisis.  Being a limited mortal of course I don’t have complete proof of this law that I am stating, but I have personally witnessed the presence of “guardian angels” on more than one occasion, and you should to if you think about it.

Saturn Stationary Retrograde December 31, 2008

This year definitely does not end with a whimper.  There was the Mars-Pluto conjunction on Sunday, December 28 coinciding with the heavy retaliation attacks of Israel on Palestine; and then on Wednesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, Saturn will stop dead in the sky (station) and turn retrograde.

Saturnian themes are loss, hardship, stark pessimism, and arduous labor; but basically anything could happen which causes pain and misfortune upon the few or many.  So-called evils as such actually are the more intense and severe forms of transformation in our lives, almost like a last gasp attempt of the universe to literally wake up a soul-consciousness that is on a timetable.

In retrospect though you can see a guiding/molding hand to the course of events in your life, the quintessential Divine Love and Protection in action.  But it does not need recognition for It’s efforts, it matter not to It that you acknowledge or see it, for It knows that one day you will.

Nevertheless the last day of 2008 may feel a little oppressive, serious, and more of a time for grim reflection than jubilant celebration; at least for some people.  It would not be pleasant to be in the crossfire between the Israeli Defense force and Hammas right now, and that could certainly cause some grief.  The Palestinians are not angels themselves, but the energies of “revenge” have been set upon them influenced highly by the recent conjunction of Mars and Pluto and now Saturn making a station.

On the day before New Years Eve, Tuesday, Dec 30, the Sun will make an aspect to Saturn possibly accentuating the power of the planet and extending the duration of the event for a day or so.
