The Astrology Cycles of Sonia Sotomayor

Sonia Sotomayor has just been confirmed by the US Senate to become the 111th Supreme Sonia SotomayorCourt Justice.  A look at her chart reveals some pretty amazing things, she is moving into some very important times astrologically and she may be in a position to make key decisions regarding the laws of the United States.

The Astrology Cycles of Sonia Sotomayor

Sonia Sotomayor has just been confirmed by the US Senate to become the 111th Supreme Court Justice.  A look at her chart reveals some pretty amazing things, she is moving into some very important times astrologically and she may be in a position to make key decisions regarding the laws of the United States.Sonia Sotomayor

This article will cover in brief her chart and then her upcoming cycles.  Since there is no published official birth time of Sotomayor, I will be using the Vedic Moon-ascendant chart (known as the Chandra lagna chart, were the house with the Moon in it is regarded as the first house).  This is a very powerful way to look untimed birth charts, and has proven to be very accurate in the past.

I’m also going to be using some decidedly western astrology cycles in my interpretation, but I am staying with the sidereal planet positions which are doing pretty well here.

Sotomayor’s chart is very commanding and authoritative by nature with the Moon in forceful Aries disposed (ruled) by a well placed Mars in the ninth house; which is aspected by the Sun and Jupiter which are very strong centrally located in their signs, and in the third house from the Moon, which is the house of courage.

The ruler of Sotomayor’s tenth house of career and reputation is Saturn, which is exalted and in a prominent position in the seventh house.  Saturn is in the sign of Libra, the balanced scales of judgment and justice weighing the jots and tittles of karma until everything balances out.  The balanced scales also represent equilibrium and fairness, which are essential qualities to a judge.

Sotomayor has not married, and such a condition could be explained by Saturn in the seventh house: restrictions and/or problems in finding a partner.

All of these planets heretofore mentioned are not in very early or late degrees of their signs, which add to their strength.  All things considered (not having the exact birth time) this is the chart of a very commanding lady blessed by fortune in life.

The very interesting thing about her astrology is her upcoming transits; these transits indicate some very significant times in her life coming up relatively quickly giving great potential power and influence.  Since Supreme Court justices do not exactly speak out as much as they write judgments on the law, we may be hearing a lot from Justice Sotomayor, at least in the repercussions from her actions and decisions.

In the next five years transiting Pluto will be directly over her natal Mars and then opposing her Sun and Jupiter, these are some of her most powerful planets in her chart.  Whatever Pluto touches in intensifies greatly, almost to (and many times quite beyond) the point of fanaticism or extreme implementation.  This could be quite scary for someone who harbors a radical or subversive agenda, in Sotomayor’s case we can hope that the exalted condition of some of her planets will help to keep her “in line” with what is really good for America.

Early on in her Supreme Court career (2010) Saturn will be afflicting her Mars; and then (2011) Uranus will be afflicting her Mars; this can have the effect of hardening her sensitivity to life and possibly stimulating her disposition against the status quo.

During this whole year (2009) Neptune has been opposing her Pluto raising the possibly of subversive elements acting in her life, or motivations that are murky being pathologically set off, or else she may be experiencing some very intense disorientation and dissolving of the structures heretofore in force in her life.  Feelings may be strong, but actual reasoning behind her actions may be somewhat at a liability.

I am endeavoring to be as objective as possible her; but it is clear to see that some very strong influences have been acting in her life lately and will be coming into prominence in the near future.  If her birth time is published (or if I have enough time to do a rectification), a more complete chart delineation can be done.
The beauty of astrology though is that even with an untimed chart quite a lot of accurate information can be found.

March 2024: A World without Equinoxes or Solstices

In March we come to the Vernal Equinox, when for about a month night and day are of about equal length, hence the word equinox.  There is one day when they are exactly equal and that is the Vernal Equinox, March 20. It is thereafter that one starts to gain dominance, for the Northern Hemisphere it is the day, while in the Southern it is night.  For the Southern their part of the globe actually moves away from the sun, hence the decreased light.
