The influences coming about could be imagined like a pan of water coming to a boil, the heat of the flame (in this case being the Sun) acting on the medium (in this case being Pluto as the subconscious) and there is a volatilization, or throwing-into-the-air, of heretofore suspended particles in the water.  The heat pushes the hidden substances out, and for a few moments, they are acting like high energy molecules shooting back and forth in the atmosphere. 

The heat not only catapults them outward, it acts as a releasing agent, re-injecting their contents into our conscious awareness, and their high energy excitation seems to magnify their power. 

The Psychological Analogy

What gets sent out from our subconscious is kind of a mixture of the good and bad within us, not totally resolved and not totally assimilated; and therefore they hold a tremendous fascination for us.  The real challenge though is to not re-energize the old, obsolete patterns of the past; or to think we are pursuing one goal, when in essence we have been beguiled by our lesser self to a path that leads nowhere but to pain and suffering. 

A lot of temptations, deceitful behaviors, and plain old human naughtiness can occur under these types of configurations.  Some people may make some karma this weekend; others may get their karma handed to them on a big platter.  In either case, they will be accompanied by an acute sense of emotional intensity.  It is not uncommon under a Sun/Pluto event like this for breakdowns of a human or mechanical variety to occur. 

Sublime Lessons In Love

The other part of this weekend is the conjunction of Venus with the South Node (called Ketu in Vedic astrology).  In areas of relationships there could be some losses and tough lessons learned as relationships do not fill the need of the individual him- or herself to connect with a more universal sense of the higher self.  If the need to cling to another is held onto during such times, much pain and suffering results and the individual is seeking to move against the evolutionary current of life.  In letting go of a possessive love a more profound and subtle love is allowed opportunity to enter in to the heart; there may be a few pangs of regret.  But as that old heart that carried that lesser love dies, the new heart to carry a greater quality of love opens.
